Birch Lake

We went to Birch Lake this week and stayed in a cabin. Our ward got together but Brent had school and work. Just me, Abby and Avery. Aren't I brave?! I left Oscar because I wasn't sure about taking the girls by myself but they had a great time!! It was our first day of the summer to actually hit 80 degrees!! Yesterday was rainy and cloudy (which did not stop the kids from swimming) but today was beautiful... perfect actually. Avery was so excited to swim in the "ocean." She kept saying, "I swim in ocean, I." So cute. Abby told her dad that she had 2 favorite things. Riding the jet skis and
catching a butterfly. She kept saying "Mom, I can't believe it! I can't believe I caught a butterfly. That is so awesome."

"pony" ride

Abby wanted a pony birthday party with pony rides. I called EVERYWHERE and no one would do it for a party with children under 6. Our awesome neighbors, Dick and Vicky knew this and arranged for my girls to ride some horses. Abby's pony ride ended up being on a Clydesdale. Haha! She loved it, this is my daughter who loves animals more than people. She was not at all scared. They had a great time. This was also the day after Abbys new haircut. She has been wanting it like Avery's for a month now. I told her she had to wait until after her recital. So the very next day I took (gasp) 7 inches! I told her how pretty she looked and went in my room and cried. It is really cute but oh my, 7 inches! It was so beautiful and I had one with long pretty hair and one with cute short hair. Oh well. Atleast it turned out really cute. She loves it. She tells everyone, "Look how pretty my hair is! " She is very humble.

dance recital

Abby has been taking dance since January. It is hilarious to watch. She loves getting beautiful every week. I have been waiting 4 years for this moment. Literally. I LOVED watching every second of that recital. I loved doing her hair curly and putting her makeup on. Girls are too much fun. She had her 2 "best friends" in her class, Cici and Callie. Avery can't wait until the next session to start. She won't be 3 quite yet but the teacher said she could start early. I think she was sick of Avery sitting in the doorway crying every week. " Me dance too!' It is so pitiful.
